Lewis B. Clarkson

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP- Lewis B. Clarkson, 88 of Mt, Wolf, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Lucy J. (Martin) Clarkson. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on August 31st. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. His pastor, The Reverend Kevin E. Trout will be officiating at the service. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Clarkson was born in Botetourt County Virginia on June 30, 1921, a son of the late Elmer and Ethel (Lavender) Clarkson. He worked for Snap-On Tools in Illinois. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII. Along with his wife, Mr. Clarkson leaves two sons, Louis Clarkson of Streator, IL, and Bill Clarkson of Huntington, AL; three daughters, Sandra Bokus of Mt. Wolf, Connie Stithe of Lake Head, Florida, and Sharon Westman of Hot Springs, AK; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three brothers, Malcolm Clarkson of Oregon, Ed Clarkson of Louisiana, and Bill Clarkson of North Carolina.
