Lester R. Beaverson

RED LION - Lester R. Beaverson, 84, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Pauline L. (Tyson) Beaverson. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with his pastor, The Rev. Anthony D. Zumbo officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday and 9-10:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard prior to the tribute service at the Funeral Home. Born May 10, 1925 in Martinsville, a son of the late Clayton and Estella (Smith) Beaverson, he was a retired carpet installer from Zarfoss Furniture Store, prior to that he was an automobile mechanic at the former Sterner Automotive. Mr. Beaverson was a member of Windsor Church of God and Steam-O-Rama. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, NASCAR, and taking his family to local dirt track racing events. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Edsall. Mr. Beaverson is survived by two sons, Timothy E. and wife Mable Beaverson and Robin C. and wife Wendy Beaverson both of Windsor; a grandson, Paul Beaverson; two step grandchildren, Michelle and husband Joseph Criswell and Robert Groves; six step great grandchildren, Trysta, Joseph, Brandon, Kayla, Austin, and Andre; a brother, Richard Beaverson of Red Lion; a niece, Lana Arnold; a nephew, David Beaverson; and a companion, Bertha Neff of Red Lion.
