Leroy Paul Wingert

MECHANICSBURG – LeRoy P. Wingert, 85, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at West Shore Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dolores M. (Grumbine) Wingert, to whom he was married for 66 years. A memorial service for Mr. Wingert will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Monaghan Township Fire Company, 245 W. Siddonsburg Rd., Dillsburg, PA 17019 with a time of fellowship to follow. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born July 29, 1930 in Shippensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Paul I. and Ida M. (Wadel) Wingert. LeRoy joined the US Air Force from high school and retired after 21 years of service. He then dedicated and found much joy in the next forty-five years of his life as an Elder at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Mechanicsburg, caring for others and sharing Bible truths. Mr. Wingert is survived by a son, Michael Wingert of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Vicki Bennet and husband Brian of Lewisberry; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Isabel Watson and husband Bruce of Morgantown, WV.
