YORK - Leota M. (Vaughn) Raver, 87, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Charles M. Raver of York to whom she was married for 26 years and the late Charles T. Jones who passed away December 13, 1974. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Rev. Brian A. McClinton officiating. A viewing will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2015 and from 9-10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born March 23, 1927 in York, Leota was a daughter of the late Louis F. and Regina L. (Poist) Vaughn. She worked packaging pretzels at the former National Biscuit Co., as a cashier at Rutter’s, and assembled parts at Kanson Electronics. Mrs. Raver was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, crafts and sewing. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Raver is survived by a daughter, Vickie (Jones) Sweitzer of Ventura, CA; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Lois Wherley of York and Joan Lynes of York. Along with her parents and husband, Leota was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Landis. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2164 Mt. Zion Road, York, Pennsylvania 17402.
