Red Lion-Leonard Shuster Jr., 68, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Scott) Shuster with whom he was married for 48 years. A celebration of life service will be 11 am, Friday, April 22, 2011 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main Street, Dallastown, with his pastors, the Rev. Roger H. Mentzer and Rev. Dr. Carl B. Rife, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 am, Friday, at the church. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born March 24, 1943 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Leonard Shuster Sr., and Elizabeth (Clay) Shuster. After graduating from high school, he attended Temple University and later La Salle University where he studied Electrical Engineering. He was employed with Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric, as an Engineer for 40 years, until his retirement in 2001. A member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown since 1979, he was active in the church\'s Adult Sunday School, and both the Finance and Audit Committees. He was also a member of the Dallastown Lions Club and an avid Amateur Radio Operator - call letters \"K3GJO\". He was active with the Dallastown High School Band Parents Association for seven years, having been the President for two of those years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shuster is also survived by, one daughter, Cynthia A. Lentz and husband, A. David of York, two sons, Scott A. Shuster and wife, Lauren Flax of Lutherville, MD and Richard B. Shuster and fiance, Terry Urey of Dallastown, three grandchildren, Adam and Evan Lentz and Meagan Shuster, two step granddaughters, Shelby McAfee and Bethany Blevins, and one nephew, Eric Neumuller. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty L. Neumuller. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson\'s Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 and Dallastown Nursing Center, 623 E. Main Street, Dallastown, Pa 17313-2313.
