Leona R. Moore

MILTON - Leona R. (Reed) Moore, 96, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her residence. She was born June 7, 1914 in Summit Hill, Pa the daughter of Raymond and Elva (Kropp) Reed. Leona was married to Charles F. Moore who died in 1978. She was a 1933 graduate of Tamaqua High School and graduated from Albright College in 1937 where she received a BS of Art. She began her teaching career began in 1937 at Red Lion, PA after that she taught at Scotland School, Montgomery, Danville and retired from Milton Jr. High School in 1976 as a Home Economics teacher. She also was a co-operating teacher for Mansfield State from 1967 to 1976. Leona was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son Roderic R. Moore of Milton and a sister Margaret D'Ambrosio of Santa Clara, CA The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton with Rev. Will R. Hallman officiating. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 - 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at Milton Cemetery.
