Leona A. (Romich) Peterson

York—Leona A. (Romich) Peterson, 67, passed from this life, Monday, June 2, 2008 at her residence in York City. She was the wife of Fred L. Peterson Jr., to whom she was married for 45 years. A viewing will be from 1-3 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Gary L. Auker of Grace Baptist Church in York, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Mrs. Peterson was born December 26, 1940 in York, a daughter of Stewart and Margaret (Miller) Romich. She was employed as a Supervisor with Electronic Manufacturing Service Group for 11 years, until her retirement in 2007. Spending time with her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed drawing, working in her yard and grooming dogs. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Peterson is also survived by two sons, Kern S. Pressel and Jimmy S. Peterson both of York, one daughter, Robin S. (Peterson) Miller of Dover, four grandchildren, Jessica N. and Jeremy N. Pressel, Faith Anderson and Cameron Miller, two great-grandchildren, Alexis D. and Monique V. Moreno, three sisters, Theola Waltimyer, and she was part of a set of triplets with sisters, Wanda Buttrey and Brenda Troup, two special family members, Sadye and Rhen Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by great aunt Lottie V. Miller. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, Pa 17402.
