Leola C. (Smith) Nace, 95, passed away on January 7, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Wilbur L. Nace. The couple shared nearly 40 years of marriage together. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Reverend Kathy Harvey Nelson, pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, Windsor will be officiating at the service. Burial will directly follow at Heiland View Cemetery, Red Lion. Born January 20, 1921, Leola was a daughter of the late Mervin C. and Sadie P. (Tome) Smith in Bittersville. She was a talented seamstress and worked for JLM Sportswear. Mrs. Nace was a member of Bittersville United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and was active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Nace is survived by three stepsons, Mark Nace and wife, Doreen of Red Lion, Dennis Nace and wife, Cathy of York, and Ray Nace and wife, Sandra of Arizona; two stepdaughters, Audrey Edwards of Red Lion, and Brenda Godfrey of Red Lion; eight grandchildren, Wyatt Nace, Dennis Jr. Nace, Laura Henry, Sean Nace, Jack Edwards, Kelly Edwards, Amy Martin, and Justin Nace; many great grandchildren; one brother, Gerald T. Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Smith of York; six nieces, Trudy L. (Knisely) Shaffer of Red Lion, Lisa L. Knisely of Austin, Texas, Cindy L. (Knisely) Devereaux of Palestine, Texas, Sharon (Garner) Galluzzo of Apex, North Carolina, Lori A. Smith of Red Lion, and Beth Ann (Smith) Gibbs of Red Lion; one nephew, Michael G. Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; 14 great nieces and nephews; and eight great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. Nace is preceded in death by one brother, Mervin Smith; one sister, Janet (Smith) Knisely and husband, Carl; and one nephew, Jeffrey C. Knisely.
