York—Lee Thomas "Tom" Amsbaugh, 83, passed away, Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the York Lutheran Retirement Village at Sprenkle Drive. A graveside tribute will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave, York, with the Rev. Keith Fair, of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, officiating. A funeral cortege will form at the Mt. Rose Ave entrance of the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born October 3, 1926 in York, he was a son of the late Everett and Mona (Morgan) Amsbaugh. He worked as a laborer with New York Wire Cloth in York for 41 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, serving with the Sea Bees in Okinawa. He enjoyed visits by his family, cars and his dogs. He was a life member of the Yorkana Gun Club. Mr. Amsbaugh is survived by his sister, Donna M. Rawhouser of York and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Morgan, who died in World War II and a sister, Theda L.
