LANSDALE - Lee Laverne Pursel, 87, formerly of Milton, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Brittany Pointe Estates at Willow Brook Court, Lansdale. He was the loving husband of Geraldine May (Steininger) Pursel for 61 years. Lee was born on July 30, 1920 in Danville and was a son of the late Bruce W. and Myrtle (Ande) Pursel. He had graduated from the Danville Area High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army/Air force, serving during WWII. Lee was a former employee of Merck, Inc. of Danville and retired in 1984 after 30 plus years of service. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Milton, a member of the Elks, American Legion and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Geraldine, he is survived by two daughters; Cecelia Lee Williams of Alexandria, VA and Sonya Lee Healy of Lansdale, three grandchildren; Kent Lee Williams of Alexandria, VA, Brennan Lee Healy and Colin Lee Healy, both of Lansdale, and four sisters; Barbara Swisher of Bloomsburg, Charlotte Stark of Danville, Lavona Robenolt of Danville and Ruth Snyder of Millville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Harriot Leighow. There will be a public viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008 with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Milton with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Lee may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701-3945.
