MILTON - Lee F. Yost, 80, died Tuesday, January 08, 2013 after a brief illness, surrounded by his family at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born on September 3, 1932 in White Deer, and was the son of the late Lee Foster and Mary Cathrine (Wetzel) Yost. Lee was a graduate from the Milton Area High School. He married the former Darlas A. (Showers) on December 23, 1950 in which they celebrated 62 years. She survives at home. Lee served in the Army National Guard of PA, during the Korean War and obtained the Ranck of Motor Sergeant with the HQ CO 3D BN109 Infantry 1950. He also received the Occupation Medal (Germany). Lee was a General Forman at ACF Industries until his retirement after 35 years in 1994 and then work part time for Roan Auctioneers Inc., for 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #256 F&AM where he was a 32 degree mason and received his 50 year service pin. He was also a member of Temple Corp where he served as secretary, the American Legion Post #71 in which he also received his 50 year service pin, Chef Silver and Gold, the Milton Fire Department 5th Ward Hose Co. which he joined in 1952 and obtained his life membership in 1977. He was a driver for the Milton Ambulance Association for over 30 years and belonged to the Milton Fire Police for over 30 years. Lee was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton, where served on various committees as well as being an usher. He loved his children and grandchildren, enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, tinkering in the garage, following “breaking news” in his tablet computer. In his younger years he farmed with his family and neighbors. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Robert W. and Bonnie Yost of Indianapolis, IN and David N. and Evelyn Yost of Milton, one daughter and two sons-in-law; Leesa and John Blankert of Columbia, SC and Donald “Don” Fisher of Milton, seven grandchildren; Michael Bankert and wife Rhiannon of Fishers, IN, Jason Blankert and wife Teresa of Danville, Jessica Yost of Milesburg, Julie LaNunziata and husband Joe of Loveland, OH, Eric Fisher and wife Kylie of Tunkhannock, Ashley Fox and husband Jason of Milton and Michelle Yost of Indianapolis, IN, three great grandchildren; Salvitor LaNunziata, Gianna Bankert and Isaac Bankert, four brothers and sisters-in-law; James G. and Pat Yost of Watsontown, William T. and Letty Yost of Watsontown, Raymond N. and Evelyn Yost of Ontario Canada and Harry T. and Mary Yost of New Columbia, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Jean Zettlemoyer of New Columbia and Virginia and Leroy Reidle of New Columbia. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by one daughter; Laurie L. Fisher. A gathering of friends will take place 12:00-1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1125 Mahoning St., Milton, PA 17847, followed by the funeral at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Pat Pittsnogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, New Columbia with military honors. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, PA 17847. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lee’s name or to a charity of ones choice.
