YORK—Lee F. Snelbaker, 74, passed away November 12, 2021 at Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Private Celebration of Life Tribute will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born December 21, 1946 in Wellsville, he was a son of the late Bruce and Dorothy (Beyers) Snelbaker-Laird. He was employed as an OTR Truck Driver with various companies throughout his career and later worked as a carpenter/laborer with Yorktowne Cabinets. A United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also a member of the New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Company where he served as department Lieutenant 1, Deputy Chief, Asst Chief and Chief. He was a dedicated member of the Red Lion ELKS serving as Exalted Ruler 7 times and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. Lee was an avid hunter, fisherman and fan of NASCAR and Sprint Car racing. He loved horses and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Lee was also an odd defying 25-year heart transplant survivor. Mr. Snelbaker is survived by a daughter, Suzette Y. Ness and husband, Brian; a son, Terry L. Snelbaker and wife, Charla; three grandchildren, Kyle Shultz and wife, Jessica, Katie LaBelle and husband, Jimmy and Tanner Snelbaker; “his pumpkin” great granddaughter, Rylee Jade Shultz and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and an infant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to ELKS-Red Lion Lodge, 323 W. Broadway, Red Lion, Pa 17356 or SPCA, 3159 N.
