RED LION Lee Everett Strawbridge, 78, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at Country Meadows of York-South. He was the husband of Donna L. (Overmiller) Strawbridge, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Dennis E. Hamsher, chaplain of Country Meadows. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Zion UM Cemetery. Born April 20, 1936, in Felton, he was the son of the late LeRoy E. and Velma (Grove) Strawbridge. Lee graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and later earned a Master of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was employed as a Nuclear Engineer with Westinghouse Electric near Pittsburgh for over 30 years. After his retirement, he became a Certified Financial Planner. Lee enjoyed hunting, hiking, bird watching, gardening and attending Pirate baseball and Steeler football games. He and Donna also loved traveling all over the world in their retirement. A longtime member of the Felton United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Beulah United Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. In addition to his wife, Mr. Strawbridge is also survived by four children, Chuck Strawbridge and his wife, Joy, Lisa Costello, Laura Cockrell and her husband, Chuck, and Tom Strawbridge and his wife, Mary; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Strawbridge and his wife, Christina, and Rebecca and Stephen Straw-bridge, Frank and Elizabeth Costello, Stephanie, Jennifer and Melanie Cockrell and Katie and Michael Strawbridge.
