Lee A. Hanes

MANCHESTER- Lee A. Hanes, 62, passed away Saturday April 4, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Christine A. (Staley) Hanes. The couple celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on February 14th of this year. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 7 PM on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-7 PM prior to the service. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide full military detail. Born on April 7, 1952 in York, Lee was a son of Arlene J. (Swope) Hanes of York and the late Kenneth Hanes. He worked for 13 years in maintenance for Northeastern School District. Lee was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Mr. Hanes served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hanes is survived by a son, Matthew Hanes of Manchester; two daughters, Michelle Overmiller and her husband Daniel of York and Alysia Harpster and her husband Geoffrey of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Owen, Izaya and Addison; and two brothers, Larry Hanes and Bruce Hanes.
