Leatrice C. (Coffman) Shaffer

YORK - Leatrice C. [Coffman] Shaffer, 82, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard S. Shaffer. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her Pastor, the Rev. Brenda J. Ferree officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Born March 5, 1925 in York a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Nora K. [Altland] Coffman, she had worked at the former Bernstein's Sewing Factory. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and its Sunshine Workers Sunday School Class and was active with the St. James Seniors group. Mrs. Shaffer also enjoyed playing bingo at the Dover Twp. Fire Hall. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by a daughter, Sonja L. and husband Kenneth Hoke of York; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Merle L. and Dean W. Coffman both of York; a son in law, Stewart Olewiler of Dover; two nieces, Nancy Hildreth of Minnesota and Janet Dempsey of York; and a nephew, Dane Coffman of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra A. Olewiler; a brother, Ralph P. Coffman, Jr.; and a sister, Lillian A. Coffman.
