Lazelle M. Watkins

Troy, PA - Lazelle M. Watkins, Age 79 of Columbia Cross Roads, PA passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 following a lengthy illness. Lazelle was born November 20, 1929 in Austinville, PA son of the late Mark and Dorothy (Garrison) Watkins. He was a graduate of Troy High School and married the former Joyce E. Smith on October 14, 1950. Lazelle and Joyce just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Lazelle enjoyed farming and had previously worked for American LaFrance in Elmira, NY. He operated the Oliver and Gehl Implement Dealership in Columbia Cross Roads for many years. Lazelle was active in many farming organizations and enjoyed being a friend to many Pennsylvania State Game Wardens. He was a past recipient of the Outstanding Sportsman Award given by the Pennsylvania State Game Commission. Survivors include his wife Joyce, children, Marshall (Judy) Watkins, Wendell (Becky) Watkins, Scott (Kelly) Watkins all of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, Marsha (Steve) Battaglini of LasVegas, NV, four grandsons, four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter, sisters, Olive Frost, Agnes (Thomas) Borgeson all of Columbia Cross Roads, Arlene (Steve) Gates of Snederkerville, PA, Janice (Darryl) Rebuck of Montoursville, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lazelle was predeceased by his parents and a sister Gladys Mell. Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 W. Main St. Troy, PA. Lazelle's funeral; will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the funeral home with Brad Stuefan officiating. Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
