RED LION- Lawrence J. Fake, 65, died at York Hospital Thursday, July 24, 2008. He was the loving husband of Judy S. (Scheffman) Fake. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Rev. Thomas Osenbach officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. Mr. Fake was born August 10, 1942 in Salem, Ohio. He was the son of the late Harold C. and Katherine J. (Thomas) Fake and the late Loyal J. McManus. Mr. Fake was employed for 23 years at Caterpillar until his retirement in 1996. He was an Eagle Scout, member of both the Red Lion & Dallastown American Legion, UAW 786, East Berlin VFW and Collinsville Fish & Game. He enjoyed camping with friends at Cedar Lake Campgrounds, fishing and hunting. Mr. Fake was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed kicking up his heels dancing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fake is survived by his three sons, Brian S. Fake and Lily Peachey of York, Joseph L. Fake and wife, Jenny all of York and Chad H. Fake and wife, Tara of Wrightsville; a daughter, Michelle M. Schwab and husband, Markus of Peach Tree City, GA; six grandchildren and one on the way; and a brother John McManus of VA. Also surviving him are his three faithful furry companions, Sierra, Xena, and Venus. Preceding him in death is a brother, Danny McManus.
