Lawrence E. Dawson

Dover—Lawrence E. Dawson, 76, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his residence in Dover Township. He was the husband of Arlene E. (Krupinski) Dawson to whom he was married for 27 years. A Graveside Service will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born September 6, 1937 in Clarksburg, W.VA, he was a son of the late Alvy R. and Velva (Smith) Dawson. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1974 after serving 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his military career he was employed with Operating Engineers as a welder and worked part time for Beard Printing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dawson is also survived by three sons, James Hobel, Kyle Owens and Keith Lightner and wife, Lara; six daughters, Jessie Parks and husband, Dale, Vicky Bracken and husband, Bob, Carol Epstein and husband, Ron, Susan Huey and husband, James, Kristina Koller and husband, Richard and Karla Donovan and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alex, Kyle, Trevor, Shauna, James, Kyrsten, Michelle, Kory, Kyrstal, Kassandra, Kelsey, Trevor, Casey, Tré, Natasha, Preston, Caleb, Trinity, Danielle, Melinda, Aaron, Melinda, Jessica and Luke; great grandchildren, Juliet, Marrissa and Makayla; one brother, Ronald Dawson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Alvy and one sister, Madeline.
