Renovo - Lavonne M. Smith, 76 of Sixth Street passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Englewood Hospital, Englewood New Jersey. She was born in Gettysburg on April 6, 1932 the daughter of the late James & Lillian (Coffee) Curran. Lavonne was married to Bert M. Smith who died August 30, 2006. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the altar and rosary society. She was also a former church cantor, Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher and she sang in the church folk choir. Lavonne was a former regent of the Catholic Daughters of America for 20 years. She was a member of the Renovo Community Choir. Surviving are three sons Michael D. (Debra) Smith of Wallingford, PA, Patrick (Laura) Smith of Renovo and Daniel G. (Sally) Smith of Howard also two daughters Colleen M. (Richard) Maher of Bergenfield, NJ and Kathleen T. (Darin) Traxler of Mt. Royal, NJ Fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren One brother Frederick P. Curran of Boca Raton, FL and a sister Linda Green of Mandeville, LA A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Joseph's Church, 925 Huron Ave., with Rev. Richard Tomkosky officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church from 10:30 - Noon. Interment will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Catholic Daughters of America, c/o Rosemary Dwyer, 821 Huron Ave., Renovo, 17764.
