Lavina E. (Stills) Moore

WILLIAMSPORT - Lavina E. (Stills) Moore, 93, died on Monday, December 22, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Rogers W. Moore who died on February 26, 2002. The couple was married on October 22, 1955 and they were married for 46 years at the time of his death. Lavina was born on November 3, 1921 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Walker A. and Vivian (Irvin) Stills. She had graduated from Williamsport Area High School. She worked for over 30 years as a housekeeper for William and Sara Pickelner. She was baptized and grew up as a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church then attended Shiloh Baptist Church in her later years. Lavina enjoyed attending all events for her children and was an avid reader. Lavina is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Roger W. and Robin L. Moore of Chester, PA, one daughter; Cherylene L. Moore of Williamsport, three grandchildren; Andre Moore and wife Jonell, Durell Moore and wife Nicholle and Brittney Moore, six great-grandchildren; Jayden, Mikael, Riley, Evan, Paige and Ethan, one sister and brother-in-law; Lois and Harry Thompson of Moorestown, NJ and three special cousins; Sam Belle, Vivian Belle and Esther Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Walker A. Stills, Jr. and her step mother; Isadora Stills. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 433 Walnut St., Williamsport with the Reverend Conrad Gibson officiating. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
