Laurie S. (Yanow) Hazel

York--Laurie S. (Yanow) Hazel, 46, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care of Mt. Joy. She was the wife of James L. Hazel to whom she was married for 17 years. A Celebration of Life Service was held privately. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 8, 1970 in Framingham, MA, she was a daughter of Marilyn (Hartenstein) Rome and her husband, Gibson of Scotland and the late Stephen L. Yanow. After graduating high school, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Lynchburg College in English Literature. She was a dedicated homemaker, whose life centered on taking care of her son and family. Laurie is also survived by her son, Reiley B. Hazel of York; step daughter, Cassandra M. Hazel of New Galilee; one sister, Michele B. Yanow of Seattle, WA and long time friend and her Angel, Tahani Samphilipo of York.
