Laurie L. (Yost) Fisher

MILTON - Laurie L. (Yost) Fisher, 55, a wonderful, loving wife, mother and daughter, died at her residence surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Laurie was born on October 6, 1955 in Lewisburg and was the daughter of Lee F. and Darlas (Showers) Yost of Milton. She was a 1973 graduate of Milton High School and a 1975 graduate of Geisinger School of Nursing. On October 12, 1979, she married Donald L. “Don” Fisher, who survives, and have celebrated 31 years as husband and wife. Laurie was an employee of Geisinger Medical Center as a Pediatric Asthma Educator. She was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton where she was very active in all activities. She was an avid baker and candy maker, enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, loved children and was a “fierce” Penn State Fan. Whenever there was a need, she was there to help. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Eric L. and Kylie Fisher of Tunkhannock, one daughter and son-in-law; Julie M. F. and Joseph LaNunziata of Loveland, OH, one grandchild; Salvatore C. LaNunziata, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert W. and Bonnie Yost of Indianapolis, IN and David N. and Evelyn Yost of Milton and one sister and brother-in-law; Leesa J. and John Bankert of Columbia, SC. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother; Arla Showers in 2011. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1125 Mahoning St., Milton, PA 17847 with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Pat Pittsnogle will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N.
