Laura F. (Espenshade) Kling

BITTERSVILLE – Laura F. (Espenshade) Kling, 87, died Wednesday, June 6th on her great granddaughter Bailey’s birthday. She died at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Kling who died on March 31, 2003 to whom she was married for 57 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with The Rev. Ed Wentz officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery. Born November 30, 1924 in Middletown, Dauphin Co., a daughter of the late Christian C. and Ada E. (Stuckey) Espenshade, she had been a member of the former Bittersville U.M. Church. Laura worked at Roanna Girl Clothing Factory in Hellam for 21 yrs., House of Windsor for two yrs., and McDonald’s in Red Lion for five yrs. until she retired at the age of 83. Laura leaves two brothers, Leo and Meade Espenshade of Middletown; five daughters, Carol Boll and husband Craig of York, Robyn Garner and husband Doug of Felton, Beverly Holloway and husband Norm of Red Lion, Frances Myers and husband Mike of Windsor, Ada Pirozzi and husband Phil of Pittsburgh; two sons, Carl Kling and wife Missy of Red Lion and Raymond Kling and wife Lisa of Mount Wolf; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. Laura’s favorite pastime was spending a lot of her time with one of her great grandsons, Dalton, who always called her Nana. She adored him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Acres Auxiliary, 118 Pleasant Acres Rd., York, PA 17402 and Ronald McDonald House, 745 West Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033.
