Thomasville—Larry R. Kehr, 75, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1214 Broadway, Hanover with the Rev. Terrence McCarthy officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Monday at the church. Burial will be held in Marburg Memorial Gardens with a flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born January 16, 1941 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Pauline (Bowers) Kehr. He was employed with P.H. Glatfelter as a maintenance mechanic lead for 22 years until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed working on cars and camping. Mr. Kehr is survived by one daughter, Dawn R. Stine and her husband, Todd of York; one son, Dayne A. Showers and his wife, April of Spring Grove; eight grandchildren, Shane Kehr-Stine, Adrienne Madison, Jordan, Kyle, Ethan, Seth and Cora Showers and Brittany Griffth; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald Kehr and his wife, Debra, Daniel Kehr and his wife, Julie and William Kehr and his wife, Rhonda; five sisters, Donna Lease and her husband, Melvin, Patricia Gebhart and her husband, Wayne, Pam Flynn and her husband, Sean, Peg Smith and her husband, Gerald and Stacy Coppersmith and her husband, Todd; former wife, Patsy L. Kehr and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Showers and one sister, Judy Sipling. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
