Larry L. Grothe

AIRVILLE - Larry L. Grothe, 59, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Darlene Y. (Urey) Grothe to whom he was married for 13 years on April 21, 2008. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Born February 23, 1949 in York, a son of Erma (Craley) Grothe of Brogue and the late Wilmer Grothe, he was a 1967 graduate of Red Lion High School. He currently worked at American Hydro Corp., prior to that, had worked at Voith Hydro, Allis-Chalmers, and owned and operated Admiral Welding Services. Mr. Grothe was a member of Craley Fish and Game, Columbia Hill Climbers, New Bridgeville Fire Co., and attended Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church. His most treasured moments came spending time with his family and friends fishing on the Susquehanna River. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Grothe is survived by four children, Charla A. and husband Terry Snelbaker, Suzette Y. and husband Michael Shultz both of Airville, Kayla Bell of York, and Jay A. Rohacek and companion Jojean Horton of Brogue; four grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Tanner, and Damien; a brother, Terry and wife Glenda Grothe of Brogue; niece, Becky Love and fianc矃had Gillespie; nephew, Ron and wife Sabrina Grothe; and two great nephews and a great niece.
