Larry D. Mactavish

DALLASTOWN - Larry D. MacTavish, 71, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Beth M. (Arnold) MacTavish to whom he was married for 31 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Victoria Krouse officiating. A viewing will be held from 2-4:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Full Military Honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard at 4:00 PM. Born January 28, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD; a son of the late Douglas B. and Ruth I. (Shockey) MacTavish, he worked as a finish carpenter for more than 35 years with Olde York Homes and Coggeshall & Lentz Contractors. Larry was life member of both York Co. Harley Davidson Owner's Assoc. where he enjoyed playing Santa for 13 years and Red Lion BPO Elks Lodge 1592. He had also been a longtime member of the former York Moose Lodge and a former member of Wormleysburg American Legion. Larry loved woodworking and riding motorcycles. He was a US Army veteran of The Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, Mr. MacTavish is survived by a son, Douglas S. MacTavish of Hagerstown; two daughters, V. Dawne Nalley and Lisa M. MacTavish both of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Zach, Nathaniel, Hannah, Keith, Ben and Sadie; three great grandchildren; his former wife, Diane (Howard) MacTavish; and two sisters who live in Hagerstown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Joan MacTavish. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York Co.
