Larry C. Swords

YORK- Larry C. Swords, 75, of York Township, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, South in York. He was the husband of Jean E. (Blymire) Swords. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 22, 2014. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Bridgeway Community Church, 255 Reynolds Mill Rd. in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Dave MacKenzie will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Larry was born in York on October 19, 1939, the son of Elsie G. (Hunt) Swords of Dallastown and the late Charles M. Swords. He retired as a machinist at Harley Davidson after 38 years of service. Larry attended Bridgeway Community Church in York and was an avid hunter, who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. Along with his wife, Larry leaves two sons, Brian L. Swords, Sr. of Red Lion, and Dr. Brett A. Swords of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Debbie J. Ginnetti and her husband Joe of York; four grandchildren, Joey Hill, Brian Swords, Jr., Brianna Swords, and Joey Ginnetti; four great grandchildren, Charlotte, Eli, Liliana, and Gabe; and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Swords. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Noel and a sister, Iris Swords. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeway Community Church, 255 Reynolds Mill Rd., York, PA 17403.
