Lamar E. Smith, Jr.

WRIGHTSVILLE - Lamar E. "Buzz" Smith, Jr., 56, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Janette M. (Metzger) Smith to whom he was married for 31 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion; with Bishop Conrad H. Knudson officiating. A viewing will be held from 3-5:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Born December 28, 1953 in Lancaster a son of the late Lamar E. Smith, Sr. and the late Anna Mae (Frey) Smith, he assembled tank engines and transmission for BAE Systems. He was a life member of NRA, a member of Craley Fish and Game, and the United Steelworkers Union. Mr. Smith enjoyed hunting at his camp in Potter Co., working outside mowing grass and planting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. In addition to his wife, Buzz is survived by a son, Jason A. and wife Danielle Smith of York; and two grandchildren, Julian and Sydney Smith.
