RED LION- L. Palmer Grim, Jr., 79, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Lucreta R. (Leiphart) Grim to whom he shared 55 years of marriage on April 25th. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion with his pastor the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8:00 PM Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion and from 9 to 10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Grim was born in Red Lion on June 26, 1929 to the late Luther P. and Mildred (Barshinger) Grim. Mr. Grim was employed at Eco Lab in St. Paul, Minn. Were he worked as a Food Industry Consultant for 45 years retiring in 1997. He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Red Lion Lion's Club, the Nittany Lion's Sports Club, and the Free and Accepted Masons. Mr. Grim attended the hi-flyer's club regularly. He enjoyed hunting, aviation, travel, and trains. Mr. Grim is survived by a son, Lou Grim of New Castle,DE, two daughters, Jeanne S. Grim, DVM of Marietta, Georgia and Tracey P. Grim, MD and her husband Kris Deardorff of York; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Deardorff; a sister, Charlene Y. and Art Bonekemper of Landsdale; and a cousin Carlton Grim of York.
