RED LION – Kirk N. Ruff, 41, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Rd., Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 9-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born March 28, 1981 in York, a son of F. Jane (Bender) Ruff of Red Lion and the late Neil S. Ruff, he was a 1999 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and a 2005 graduate of Millersville University. Kirk worked at Apria Healthcare. He had previously been a teacher at River Rock Academy in Spring Grove. He also loved coaching football and track for Spring Grove, and Jr. High football at Red Lion. Kirk was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Heritage Hills. Kirk enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His love for his family was known by all. He loved making those around him laugh, and always made sure everyone felt his infectious love. Kirk loved making fun memories with his daughter, especially playing games at Round 1. Sundays during football season you would know Kirk was watching and cheering on his team, the Eagles. His kind loving heart, and most fun personality was felt by all. In addition to his mother; Kirk is survived by a daughter, Laiklyn Joyce Ruff and her mother, Sara Runkle of Red Lion; two brothers, Jeffrey E. and wife Kathleen Haldeman of York and Michael G. Haldeman of Red Lion; nieces, Vanessa Haldeman and fiancée Steve Gurreri, and Emma Haldeman; great nieces, Sofia and Stella Haldeman; an aunt, Donna Ruff-Myers; cousins, Lisa Gemmill and husband Butch, Lee Bender, Claire Myers Bauman and husband Jim Babb, Lauren Myers, Martin Myers and wife Kate; and companion Rebecca Weist. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Robert Myers.
