Kerwin E. Sipe, Jr.

YORK - Kerwin E. Sipe, Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Janet (Wimmer) Sipe to whom he was married for 56 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 47 West Philadelphia St., York with his pastor, The Rev. F. Christopher Anderson officiating. A visitation will take place from 6-7:00 PM Thursday in the Church parlor. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born November 11, 1932 in York, a son of the late Beulah (Steffee) and Kerwin E. Sipe, Sr., he was a 1950 graduate of Dover High School and later graduated from Baltimore City Hospital School of X-ray Technology. Mr. Sipe retired in 1987 from the radiology department at York Hospital after 33 years of service. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons, White Rose Lodge 706; and Heidelberg UCC. Mr. Sipe was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sipe is survived by two daughters, Karen M. and husband Daniel R. Howe of Dover and Elaine K. Slick of Red Lion; and two grandsons, Gary Slick, Jr. and Adam Slick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heidelberg UCC, 47 W. Philadelphia St., York, PA 17403.
