Kenneth Stephen Cole

MT WOLF- Kenneth Stephen Cole, 94, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Country Meadows-Trolley Rd. in York. He was the husband of Mary M. (Mitchell) Cole. The couple celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on November 6, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held at North Hills Bible Church located at 1951 North Hills Road in York on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:30 am with a luncheon to follow. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at Hoover Cemetery in Starview. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Pastor David Moss will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cole was born in Scranton, PA on July 29, 1920, the son of the late LeRoy Glen and Iva Beatrice (Callendar) Cole. He retired in 1985 from Allis Chalmers where he was a crane operator and rigger. Mr. Cole was a member of North Hills Bible Church, Mount Wolf VFW, and the American Legion. He loved his Lord, loved his family, and loved his country. He was a history buff, enjoyed travel, an avid reader, and known for his practical jokes. He served in the US Army in WWII. Mr. Cole leaves a son, Kim Cole of York; three daughters, Jeannie Gunsch of Dover, Patricia Linton of Red Lion, and Susan Clancy of Dover; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. A daughter, Shirley Hoover had preceded him in death.
