BURLINGTON-Life long and well liked resident of Burlington, PA, Kenneth R. Case, 79, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline "Jackie" (Simpson) Case. The couple married March 3, 1977 and had 33 wonderful years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Ken's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 12th at the funeral home with long time friend, Rev. Jasper Smith, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of Ken's family in Oak Grove Cemetery. Ken was born on January 7, 1931 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Paul and Viola (Darrow) Case. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Ken worked for the Burlington Garage, worked on the roads, drove a school bus, and ended his career working for DuPont, Inc. He was a Pentecostal Christian by faith, was a wonderful singer, and loved to sing the old hymns. Ken belonged to the Waverly VFW Post #8104 and American Legion Post #0492. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Ken was an expert gardener; he even had his own greenhouse. He loved to cook and could fix just about anything. The saying around his house was "If Ken couldn't fix it, it wasn't broken". The most important thing in Ken's life was his family. They include: his wife Jackie, his sons; Jerry (Lorene) Ackley of Burlington, PA, Tony (Colleen) Arnold of Carlisle, PA, Jamie (Brenda) Arnold of Burlington, PA, and Joel (Cindy) Arnold of Burlington, PA, his daughters; Susan (Jim) Williams of Canton, PA, and Kristie Arnold of Burlington, PA, 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and nephews Mick and Mark Smith. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Merle Smith. Contributions may be made in Ken's memory to the American Heart Association 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17041.
