HANOVER- Kenneth Paul Daugherty, 57, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, January 17, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Pastor Randy Starr will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Kenny was the son Betty E. (Ness) Daugherty of Brogue and the late Paul E. Daugherty. He was born October 19, 1955 with cerebral palsy. He had many challenges throughout his life but always met them head on. He proved the doctors wrong in living four times longer than they predicted. The one thing everyone remembers about Kenny is his infectious smile. Kenny lived at his home in Brogue until he was 21 years old and from then resided at special care homes; the last being Skills Group Central PA. We cannot say enough about the love and care he received from them. Kenny leaves three sisters, Darlene L. Daugherty of Red Lion, Lois Jordan and her husband Bob of Brogue, and Kay Waltermyer and her husband Jeff of Brogue; three brothers Dean Daugherty and his wife Judy, Nevin Daugherty and his wife Belinda, and Glen Daugherty and his wife Susan, all of Brogue; and several nieces and nephews. A nephew, Shawn Daugherty and a niece, Monica Daugherty had preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Skills Group Central PA, 276 Allegheny Ave., Hanover, PA 17331.
