Kenneth Eberly

DALLASTOWN- Kenneth Eberly, 91, of York Township, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Grove) Eberly. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in November of 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The Reverend James C. House will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Dallastown American Legion. Mr. Eberly was born in York Township on December 22, 1919, a son of Milt and Emma(Ferree) Eberly. Mr. Eberly was a member of Dallastown American Legion. He was also a former member of Windsor Rifle Range and Dallastown Hunting Club. He served in the US Army in WWII, where he became a Prisoner of War and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Eberly leaves two sons, Kenneth L. Eberly of Hellam, and Donald E. Eberly of Jacobus; a daughter, Shirley A. Cottrell of Red Lion; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and a great, great, grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Ellen Ellis.
