RED LION- Kenneth E. Stabley, 94, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, in York. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth V. (Geesey) Stabley, to whom he was married 74 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Certified Celebrant Kealey Smartnick, officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be held privately in St. John’s Blymire UCC Cemetery in Dallastown. Born June 14, 1922 in Windsor, Kenneth was a son to the late Solomon Scott and Estella Mae (Roth) Stabley. He graduated from Red Lion High School and went to work as an inspector for York Ice. He was promoted to supervisor in the quality control department at Borg Warner where he was employed for over 41 years. Ken served as the former President of the Square Club of York No. 1052, and the former President and former Secretary of Yoe’s Lion’s Club. He was also a member of the Red Lion Masonic Lodge #649 F&AM, the Elks Lodge #1592 in Red Lion, the Harrisburg Consistory Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America in Harrisburg, the Zembo Shrine Center in Harrisburg, the Blue Lodge, the PA Association of Masonic High Twelve Clubs, and he served on the Windsor Township Zoning Board. Mr. Stabley leaves behind 23 nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Ruth, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon E. Stabley, George Nelson Stabley, and Paul R. Stabley, and two sisters, Janet (Stabley) Grove and Velma (Stabley) Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
