Kenneth D. Kurtz

WINDSOR- Kenneth D. Kurtz, 85, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Shaw) Kurtz. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Road, with Reverend Kathy Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2 PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be private in Windsor Cemetery. Born May 18, 1931 in Hopewell Twp., Ken was a son of the late Clyde B. and Mary M. (Hess) Kurtz. He worked for 25 years as an estimator for York International until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Kurtz was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Windsor where he was the church organist for 48 years. Ken was also the choir director for Grace UM and other churches and taught piano for over 45 years. Mr. Kurtz is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Kurtz of Windsor and their three children, Daniel Kurtz and his wife Jaime of Red Lion, Christine Schaeberle and her husband Jeffrey of Red Lion, and Tammy Bowser and her husband Chad of Dallastown; and their five grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Kenneth is also survived by three additional children, Kenneth Kurtz, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Winterstown, Kathi Brock of Marietta, and Lori Bates of New York. Along with his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kurtz and a sister, Lila Kinard.
