WELLSBURG- Kenneth A. Beauman, 77, of Bentley Creek, Pa., passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Joseph's hospital in Elmira, N.Y. He was the loving husband of Mary A. (Dickerson) Beauman. The couple married May 5, 1984 and had 29 happy years together. Ken was born on July 10, 1935 in Sayre, Pa., a son of the late William and Edna (Rogers) Beauman. He was a truck driver for Southern Tier Hide & Tallow in Elmira until his retirement in 1992. Ken was Christian by faith and his life was spent serving others. He volunteered on the Ridgebury Ambulance Squad and Fire Department, even helped build the present fire hall, worked at the Bentley Creek Food Pantry, helped care for the Ridgebury baseball field, and helped with the community's recycling program. Ken enjoyed watching baseball and owned his own, as well as, helped his family and friends with dirt track race cars. Ken is survived by his wife Mary his children Nancy (Rick) Patterson of Mt. Olive, N.C., Tom (Connie) Beauman of Centerville, Pa., Dot (Roger) Watson of Harrisburg, Pa., Art Chapman of Centerville, Pa., and Dale (Karen) Chapman of Westford, Vt.; along with several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruth (Ross) Beauman, and his son Michael Beauman. A graveside memorial service to honor Ken's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Bentley Creek Cemetery, along the Berwick Turnpike in Bentley Creek, Pa., with Rev. Andrew Phillips, pastor of Berrytown Wesleyan Church, officiating. The Roberts Funeral Home Inc., 279 Main St., Wellsburg, N.Y. has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Ken's memory to the Food Pantry at the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church, 13255 Berwick Turnpike, Gillett, PA 16925; or to the Tri-Township Ambulance Service, c/o Diane Husted, 16145 Berwick Tpk., Gillett, PA 16925 to help with the costs of the ambulance service in Ridgebury.
