Kelly Jo Kinard

YORK - Kelly Jo Kinard, 58, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 after her hard-fought battle with

Melanoma and Multiple Sclerosis. She will be remembered as a true warrior against the black beast,

Melanoma.

A gathering of family and friends with a viewing will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, October

27, 2023 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion.

Born September 14, 1965 in York, Kelly was a daughter of the late Wayne L. and Clara (Burkins) Kinard.

Kelly was employed by Legacy Wealth Holdings as a coordinator. She was a very socially active person,

and dedicated a lot of her time to the Melanoma Research Foundation and the MS Society. She would

often organize fundraisers or outreach. In her free time, Kelly could be found spending time with her

beloved dogs, Cooper and Caper traveling, singing karaoke, watching NASCAR races, painting, beading,

boating on the river, spending time on the beach watching the sun set, and she was also part of the

Valkyrie Drill Team when she was younger.

Kelly is survived by her brothers, Kevin Kinard and wife, Lisa of Red Lion, Keith Kinard and wife, Kim of

Airville, and Kent Kinard and wife Carla, of Dallastown; several nieces and nephews; her extended

family; and her many loving friends. In addition to her parents, Kelly is preceded in death by a nephew,

Hunter Kinard in 2015.
