YORK - Keith Wayne Mummert, 49, died Saturday evening, November 15, 2008, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Amy Jo (Norbeck) Mummert. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with a Celebration of Life Service beginning 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Pastor David G. Woodruff of York Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Mr. Mummert was born November 9, 1959, in York. He was the son of Sterling Edward and Janet Elaine (Krishingner) Mummert of Dover. He was a 1978 graduate of the York County Area Vocational Technical School where he earned his diploma in the field of welding and in 1976 placed 1st in the VICA State Award for Welding. In 1983 he earned his Masters of Plumbing from the city of York and was currently employed as a Master Plumber with Johnson Controls. He previously served as a Welder/Assembler Fabricator with the then York International where he was responsible for blueprint reading, fabricating materials and meeting all US Navy specifications for welding. He also formerly owned and operated the K. W. Mummert Co. in York and served as vice president of manufacturing at American Rebar-Matic from 1985 to 1989. Mr. Mummert was a member of York Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, camping, travel, boating and riding motorcycle. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mummert leaves his daughter, Andrea Marie Mummert of York; two sisters, Belinda Ann McLaughlin of Cranston, RI and Connie Jean Holdsworth of Silver Spring, MD; four aunts; five uncles; four nieces; six nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
