Keith D. Rode, 83, passed away at his son’s home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen M. (Reese) Rode, 84, who passed away at UPMC Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 21, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. and Mrs. Rode will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road in York with Pastor Jonathan Bowers officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Rode was born on January 13, 1939 in York. He was the son of the late Ezra and Anita (Danner) Rode. Mrs. Rode was born February 28, 1938 in York. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Pauline (Shermeyer) Reese. They were both members of the former Faith Covenant Christian Church where they were both very active and participated in many church events. One of their favorites was the Study Buddy program, it was an after-school program at the church that aided kids with studying, also providing fun activities and food. They also enjoyed going to their cabin in Clinton County, where Mr. Rode enjoyed hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Rode where always together in their 65 years of marriage, whether it be a church function or a family outing, they were always side by side. Mr. and Mrs. Rode are survived by a son, Keith D. Rode II (Lisa); a daughter, Vicki L. Stein (Ronald); five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Rode are preceded in death by a son, Christopher K. Rode. Mr. Rode is preceded in death by a sister, Aletha Rode.
