Kaylyn Rose "Kate" (Shaffer) Confer

BOALSBURG - Kaylyn Rose “Kate” (Shaffer) Confer, 24, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born on November 12, 1990 in Hershey and was the daughter of Danny J. Shaffer and JoAnn L. (Rogers) Yearick. Kate was a graduate of Central Mountain High School Class 2009. On May 15, 2010 Kate married Jared Scott Confer, who survives. Kate enjoyed riding motorcycles, animals, piercings and tattoos. She enjoyed life and was very outgoing and kind hearted and would do anything for anyone. Most of all Kate enjoyed spending time with her children, friends and family. In addition to her husband, Kate is survived her paternal grandfather; Harry S. Shaffer and wife Patricia of Saladasburg, paternal grandmother; Rosemary L. Laubscher and her husband Nevin K. of Woolrich, father and step mother; Danny J. and Debra Shaffer of Avis, mother; JoAnn L. Yearick of Newport, step father; Sylvester “Butch” Bauman, Jr. of Jersey Shore, two sons; Kaleb A. and Jared S. Confer, II, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Mark D. and Dana Rogers of Lock Haven and John H. and Wendy Hamm of Jersey Shore, three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Lauri G. Workman of Newport, Bobbi J. and Dave Pick of Hellertown and Sally R. and Andrew Baker of Newport, 10 nieces and nephews; Tori and Summer Reeder, Lakeshia Knarr, Morgan Workman, Nathan, Halie and Elizabeth Baker, Kylie, Karter and Kacee Beller, Johnathon, Adrien, Makaylah and Devin Hamm, several aunts and uncles and Kate’s companion Maria Gilligan. Kate was preceded in death by her great grandparents and maternal grandparents; Robert and Grace Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral costs. A public viewing will be held 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m., Wednesday, November 04, 2015 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall followed by the funeral at 7:00p.m. with Pastor Troy Kerstetter of Faith Baptist Church, Blanchard officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience to the family.
