Kayla Noel Roehm

YORK - Kayla Noel Roehm, 25, of York Township, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at York Hospital from complications of liver disease. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 161 North Main Street in Red Lion, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. The Reverend David Tietje will be officiating at the service. There will be a time of gathering at Dallastown American Legion that will be held after the memorial service until 7 p.m. The family would like to extend the invitation to the gathering regardless of attendance at the service. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Kayla was born in York on January 7, 1990, the daughter of Wendy S. (Anderson) Roehm Harris of York and her husband, Brian and Keith Roehm and his wife, Cheri of York. Along with her parents, Kayla leaves her precious daughter, Kaylyanna “Kaylybelle” Roehm. She leaves five sisters, Dani Roehm, Kelsie Roehm, Chloe Roehm, Brianna “Breezy” Harris, and Jewel Johnston; three brothers, Keith “KR” Roehm II, Bry Harris, and Devyn Roehm; a maternal grandmother, Judith (Sprenkle) Anderson and a paternal grandmother, Sheila (Harris) Ruppert; step-mother, Maureen Roehm; and a “special love”, Joel McWilliams. Kayla was her family’s special princess and always will be. She was a very caring beautiful young lady. As a youngster, her mom called her “little nurse”. As she grew older, that caring took over in finding strays – once even a little mole with a hurt foot. Kayla leaves two pets she brought into the family, a cat, Baby Kay and a dog, Pixie Noel. Kayla’s greatest wish in life was to have a child. God granted her wish. Her family is very blessed to have been left with such a special gift. To honor one of Kayla’s wishes for her daughter, the family will be celebrating her Baptism as part of Kayla’s Celebration of Life Service. So please attend and be a part of this day. Kayla attended Dallastown Area School District growing up; then York County School of Technology (Child Care Pgm); graduating in January 2008 from York County High School. She had attended classes at H.A.C.C., York. She previously worked as a clerk for Joann Fabrics and Party City in York. When Kayla was younger, she attended Joyce Freeman Studio of Dance; later known as Performing Arts Academy-York. She participated in the Dallastown Intramural Pgm – Traveling Basketball Team too. For many years Kayla was involved with Penn Laurel Girl Scouts. Kayla recently became a member of Dallastown American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she would love to have played pool had her life continued. Lastly, Kayla was a strong brave young woman. Forced to conquer one disease only to fight another. She remained strong, caring, and helpful till the end – loving her little girl and family. May her memory live on even to those who never met her. Kayla has her “wings” now! Memorial contributions may be made to your choice of charity in Kayla’s name. Someday in Kayla’s memory, the family would like to start a memorial fund to help individuals with addiction or liver disease to help those in need to conquer these diseases.
