Katie A. (Bair) Grove

RED LION – Katie A. (Bair) Grove, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the home of her son, Carl L. Grove. She was the wife of the late Emery W. Grove, Sr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Red Lion Zion United Methodist Church, 1155 Felton Rd., Red Lion with Pastor David Kominsky officiating. Viewings will be held from 5-8:00 PM Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Private burial will be in Zion U.M. Church Cemetery. Born October 19, 1932 in N. Codorus Twp, a daughter of the late Reuben S. and Katie R. (Hoffman) Bair, she had worked as a Reflexologist. Mrs. Grove was a member of Zion U.M where she was active with her adult Sunday school class and also taught children’s Sunday school. She enjoyed live gospel music concerts and particularly listening to the Gaither’s. Katie loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also survived to bouts with Polio. Mrs. Grove is survived by two daughters, Deb K. and husband John Messersmith of Dover and Dawn L. and husband Robert Albright of Felton; four sons, Emery W. Grove, Jr. and wife Sue of Red Lion, Carl L. and wife Ann Grove of Red Lion, Mark L. Grove of Dallastown, and Myron “Joe” and wife Debbie Grove of Brogue; 13 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and a brother, Leroy H. Bair of Quarryville. She was preceded in death by five siblings. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion U.M. Church, 1155 Felton Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356.
