Kathryn Viola Young

YORK – Kathryn V. (Beaverson) Young, 87, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lester L. “Bo” Young, to whom she was married for nearly 50 years. Born on December 23, 1928 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Minnie (Reichard) Beaverson. She retired as a cigar machine operator from Neff Cigar Factory. Kathryn was a member of the Wrightsville Legion Post 469 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She loved watching western shows, listening to Elvis Presley and adored the company of her dog, Zoey, “her baby”. Mrs. Young is survived by three daughters, JoAnn E. Snyder of East Prospect, Donna J. Zink of Columbia, and Debbie S. Young of Hellam Twp.; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Beaverson & wife Nadine of Wrightsville; and a son-in-law, Bill Feltch of Wrightsville. In addition to her beloved husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by a great grandson, Coty Snyder, two sisters; Joyce Snyder and Tressa Lentz; and a son-in-law, William Zink, Sr. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
