YORK- Kathryn Louise (Walters) Newcomer, 103, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at SpiriTrust Lutheran The Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late E. James Newcomer to whom she was married for 17 years. Born on February 6, 1915 in Seven Valleys, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Rebecca S. (Rosenzweig) Walters. Kathryn worked as a purchasing agent at York International for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul’s (Zeigler’s) Lutheran Church in Seven Valleys, PA, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Kathryn played in various instrumental, country, western groups, whose songs could be heard on the radio or at public appearances. She loved to attend local stock car races with her family and watched NASCAR every chance she got. She was a humble, kind, and sweet woman, filled with love, and will never be forgotten by her niece and nephew, and their families. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. A special thank you to all the skilled caregivers at SpiriTrist for taking care of Kathryn during her time there. A private graveside service was held at St. Paul (Zeigler’s) Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s (Zeigler’s) Lutheran Church, 4258 Zeiglers road, Seven Valleys, PA 17360. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is in charge of services.
