NEW BRIDGEVILLE- Kathryn I. “Kate” Godfrey, 65, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at her residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Yorkana Church of the Brethren, 88 Main St., Yorkana, with her pastor, the Reverend David Krape officiating. Viewings will be from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion and 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Codorus Church of the Brethren. Born on June 10, 1949 in York, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Caroline L. (Sterner) Godfrey. Kate was a 1967 graduate of Red Lion High School. She held various positions at Danskin during her 33 years of employment. Ms. Godfrey was a member of Yorkana Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School for many years. Kate enjoyed attending yard sales throughout the area. Ms. Godfrey is survived by three brothers, Richard Godfrey and his wife, Brenda of Felton, Frank Godfrey and his wife, Barb of Jefferson and James Godfrey and his wife Judy of Felton; two sisters, Edith Seigman of New Bridgeville and Rose Godfrey of Felton; a half sister, Mary Godfrey of York; sister in law, Connie Godfrey of Dallastown; 12 nephews; eight nieces; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a few great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her half brother, George Godfrey; one niece; and one nephew.
