Kathryn I. Bailey

YORK - Kathryn I. (Soptelean) Bailey, 79, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the wife of George D. Bailey to whom she celebrated 30 years of marriage on August 12, 2024.

Born June 12, 1945 in Canton, OH; a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth R. (Lawson) Soptelean, she had worked for the former Martin Marietta Corp. in Florida and then served many years as Compliance Manager at BAE Systems in York, where she retired in 1999. Kathy enjoyed tending to and planting her gardens and spending time reading. She also loved volunteering at York County ASPCA.

In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by a daughter, Tonya and husband Ken Blanchard of Cassville, Huntingdon County; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary J. Krug and Christopher D. Krug.
