Kathleen (Mcginnis) Snyder

RED LION-Kathleen (McGinnis) Snyder, 82, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Harold L. Snyder to whom she was married for 60 years on July 17 2008. A funeral service will be10:00 AM Monday, January 26, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, Minister Edward L. Wentz officiating. A visitation will be held 9-10:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Snyder was born October 29, 1926 in Winterstown, a daughter of the late Russell and Frieda (Curran) McGinnis. After graduating high school she continued her education at York Hospital certifying her as a Registered Nurse. She worked at York Hospital for 29 years, where she received recognition for her excellence in nursing, until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Snyder was an active member of Bittersville United Methodist Church. She was always known to have a warm smile for everyone she encountered. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Snyder is survived by two sons, Jay H., and Randy S. Snyder, both of Sarasota County, FL.; a sister, Kay Herrick of York; four brothers, Dana McGinnis of Baltimore, and Donald, Kenton, and Derroll McGinnis, all of York.
