Kathleen M. Grove

STEWARTSTOWN – Kathleen M. Grove, 69, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the companion of Russell D. Gettle to whom she spent her life with for 24 years.

Born March 23, 1955 in York, she was a daughter of the late Marvin L. and Marion L. (Arnold) Workman. For most of her working life, Ms. Grove was a machinist for various companies including Apex, Dentsply, and Key Plastics. She was able to retire at 62 and continued to work part-time jobs to keep busy. She is remembered as an extremely hard worker and a fighter. She was also a cancer survivor. In her free time, she enjoyed watching football, especially the Raven’s. She was an avid fan. Kathleen will be missed by all.

In addition to her beloved companion, Russ, she is survived by four siblings, Steve Workman and his companion Kris of Red Lion, Ron Workman and his wife Linda of York, Donna Flaharty of Camp Hill, Kandy Norris and her husband Ron of Red Lion; a sister-in-law, Teresa Haugh of Red Lion; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Lutz, Sr. of Red Lion, Ernest Horton of Red Lion, and Michael Haugh of Red Lion; as well as her stepmother, Clara L. (Wagoner) Workman.

Services will be held at a later date. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
